As part of efforts to engage key stakeholders in advancing his vision for Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, hosted the newly elected Global President of the UNIZIK Alumni Association, Dr. Ikechukwu Umeh, and his team during a courtesy visit in Awka.

Dr. Umeh commended the Vice-Chancellor for his leadership during a challenging period for the institution, particularly highlighting his efforts in digitizing university operations. He encouraged Prof. Ikechebelu to remain steadfast in fostering peace and the growth and development of the university.

Similarly, the immediate past Global President, Engr. Emeka Nwafor, also emphasized the need for continued improvements in the academic transcript request and collection process, expressing hope for swift resolutions to existing challenges.
In response, Prof. Ikechebelu expressed gratitude for the Alumni Association’s support and urged them to adopt a “think-home” mentality by mobilizing resources for critical infrastructure development across the university’s campuses.
The visit concluded with the presentation of the Association’s proposed 2025 action plan.
Present with the Acting Vice-Chancellor during the visit are the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Philomena K. Igbokwe and Prof. F.J.C Odibo (SAVC Academics).
