Bina Foundation for People with Special Needs is a non-profit organization that works for improved personal development, economic empowerment, social inclusion and human rights of people with special needs in Nigeria. The organization was founded by Lady Ifeoma C. Atuegwu in line with her passion and personal philosophy to assist the poorest of the poor especially physically and mentally challenged persons, the blind and visually impaired, orphans and motherless babies, the widows and the elderly. The organisation started off with the mobilization of like-minded individuals to address issues facing people with special needs. Bina Foundation was formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2010.
The motivation for incorporating Bina Foundation for People with Special Needs was born out of the desire to ensure sustainability and expansion of assistance to target beneficiaries. Ever since, Bina Foundation for people with special needs has made some remarkable contributions towards alleviating stigmatization, marginalization and neglect suffered by people with special needs.
