Hebrew University of Jerusalem International Institute Seeks Collaboration with UNIZIK

UNIZIK Vice chancellor Prof Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie has played host to a delegation from Hebrew University of Jerusalem International Institute who came for a collaboration talks with the university.

Addressing the Vice Chancellor, the spokesperson of the team Prof. K.R.E Okoye informed the vice chancellor that the visit was to seek collaboration with the university in the areas of Agriculture, Hi- technology and AI application. He further stated that the coming of the body was to seek ways of strengthening the university’s agricultural base and in furthering the teaching of AI application.

The Chairman of the Institute, Prof. Agnes C. Onyeagba in supporting the Prof.Okoye's introductory speech stated that the speaker actually approached them with the view to seeking for collaboration with the university.

She noted that they have had collaborations with such institutions like UNN, Taraba State Government, Abia State Government and Imo State Government etc. 

Prof Onyeagba commended the support of the former Head of State, General Oluseguen Obasanjo in promoting the course of agricultural production disclosing that that they launched a pet agricultural programme called "TELEFOOD" (That took place in 2000)

The Chairman commended the support of the Federal Government and the Imo State Government especially for donating land to them for the venture and also called on the Vice Chancellor to donate land for their take off in the university.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor thanked her for such a lofty idea. He however urged them to liaise with either the Directorate of International Collaboration and Linkages or the Directorate of Open and Distance learning in furtherance of their demands.

Prof Okoye further requested the approval of the Vice Chancellor for the team to visit Ifite Ogwari campus of the university and other places which the Vice Chancellor graciously accented to.

Some members of the Delegation included Duru Ifeoma O,Director) , Pst Anayochie E . Njoku, Ibe Chika (staff), Rev.Sr. .Dr Ursula Oparanjo of Educational foundation and Dr P.I Okoye , HOD Industrial Technology Education (ITE). .
