PROF. I. M. EKEJINDU


Professor Ifeoma Mercy Ekejindu is a Public Health Parasitologist and Medical Laboratory Scientist by profession. She has previously worked at the Nigerian Institute for Trypnosomiasis Research in Kaduna and also Vom in Plateau State. She joined Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 1989 as a lecturer. She is widely published in reputable local and international peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests are public health parasitology and medical microbiology. She is a committed academic who believes in quality training for the students.

Our mission is to become a faculty that provides the healthcare industry of Nigeria and the rest of the world with top quality manpower in all fields allied to medicine.

To be a faculty of excellence in research and training of healthcare professionals.

Objectives

Philosophy and Objectives:

The philosophy of the Faculty of Health Science and Technology is to train and produce health practitioners and managers for the Nigerian vision of Health for All. To attain this, emphases are placed on the following objectives:

  1. To inculcate in students the fundamental principles of health sciences;
  2. To apply the fundamental principles of health sciences to health problems;
  3. To assist in proper management of patients;
  4. To deliver quality service to humanity.

It is hoped that the graduates produced will:

  1. Help meet the needs for health workers in the tertiary and general  hospitals, and other private outfits for better health for Nigerians;
  2. Engage in research;
  3. Become self-employed and employers of labour; and
  4. Assist in the management of patients for the overall wellbeing of the patients.
