Ada Sam Omenyi, is a Professor of Educational Management and First Lady Director of Continuing Education Programme (CEP), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. She is currently a member of UNIZIK 8th Governing Council as a Senate Representative. She has made very significant contributions to CEP. She streamlined and brought in many changes in Continuing Education Programme Unit:
Production of first detailed handbook for students guide
Use of Biometric in CEP Pre-Admission Examinations
Use of Biometric to verify students in Examination halls
Use of Lecture Monitors for effective teaching
Use of Monitors during the Examinations
Use of Checkers for checking Development Levy payment (School Fees)
Use of ICT Personnel for verifying students impersonating in the examination halls
Regular and immediate payment of staff honoraria
Increase in staff honoraria
Prompt submission of Semester and Degree results
Adherence to lecture and examination timetables by staff and students
Provision of two (2) new vehicles (Toyota Corolla Car and Bus) for use in CEP Unit.
Ada Sam was the former Head of Department of Educational Foundations, Pioneer Head of Department of Educational Management & Policy; was First Lady Dean of Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and Director, Sandwich Programme.
She held leadership positions in task force programmes, coordinating units, several departmental and interdepartmental committees; drafted several programmes in General Studies, Educational Management & Policy at undergraduate, PGD, M.Ed. and Ph.D levels; chaired departmental and faculty committees, and programmes; was Chairman, Board of governors for Nnamdi Azikiwe University Primary School for six years; member, board of governors for Nnamdi Azikiwe University High School; Secretary, Academic Staff Union (ASUU) Bus Committee; Chairman departmental and Faculty Appraisal Committees and Management Boards; Consulting editor and Editor-in-Chief in journals. She was also the Chairman, Faculty of Education Post-graduate Board and Faculty Management Board, and completed Supervision of more than 40 (forty) postgraduate students in the University; she was Chairman, Committee on Monitoring of Nnamdi Azikiwe University fees payments. She is happily married to Prof. Sam Omenyi, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
