Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka is set to establish a molecular diagnostics and research laboratory with support from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
UNIZIK was recently selected as one of the beneficiaries of the 2020 allocation of the sum of One Hundred Million Naira by the TETFUND. According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone FAS, the project upon its completion is expected to scale up testing for COVID-19.
The Ivory Tower in its effort to combat the effect of the dreaded COVID-19 had earlier embarked on two-week fumigation of its premises and campuses in Awka, Agulu and Nnewi to decontaminate the environment against the Novel Corona Virus. As well, UNIZIK had distributed over a thousand branded facemasks to its members of staff.
