UNIZIK Faculty of Law Alumni Launch Auditorium Project

The Faculty of Law Alumni Association at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has embarked on a project to construct an auditorium for the faculty. This initiative, aimed at improving the infrastructure of the institution, received a significant boost with the laying of the foundation stone by the Acting Vice-Chancellor and faculty member, Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi.

In her address at the groundbreaking ceremony, Professor Arinze-Umobi expressed deep emotion, reflecting on the importance of the auditorium to the faculty. She commended the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Ogugua V.C. Ikpeze PhD, for her visionary leadership and the numerous developmental strides taking place within the faculty. Professor Arinze-Umobi also took the opportunity to encourage students to prioritize their academic pursuits and to adhere to the faculty’s dress code, emphasizing discipline and professionalism.

In her remarks, Professor Ikpeze hailed the groundbreaking ceremony as an incredible moment in the faculty’s history, describing it as the dawn of a new era. According to her, the planned auditorium will serve as a hub for intellectual exchange, hosting lectures, symposia, and other academic activities.

Professor Ikpeze also acknowledged the generous contributions made by the Faculty of Law Alumni Association, urging more alumni to support the project to ensure its timely completion. The auditorium is expected to be completed within a year and will play a critical role in the faculty’s growth and development.

Present at the event were Prof. Sylvia Chika Ifemeje, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Anambra State, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN, Commissioner for Lands Anambra State, Chief Dr. Emeka Obegolu, SAN represented by the former Chairman of NBA Anaocha Branch, Kaine Ananwume Esq, Prof Felicia Anyogu, Prof. Ikenga Kenneth E. Oraegbunam, Chairman of the Faculty of Law Alumni Association, among others.
