UNIZIK High School Graduate Emerges Overall Top Scorer in 2025 UNN UTME/Post-UTME Exercise
A former student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University High School, Awka, Miss Efechukwu Nzekwe Chinenemerem, has emerged as the overall top-scoring candidate in the 2025 University of Nigeria (UNN) UTME/Post-UTME admission exercise.
This feat has been formally confirmed by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, following a request by the Department of English and Literature, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, for particulars of the overall top-scoring candidates in the 2025 UTME/Post-UTME assessment.
In a letter dated July 17, 2026, and signed by the Registrar of the University of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. C. N. Nnebedum, the University listed Miss Nzekwe as the highest-scoring candidate among the top three candidates on its primary admission list for the 2025/2026 UTME/Post-UTME exercise.
Miss Nzekwe recorded an impressive PUTME score of 364.7, placing her ahead of the second- and third-ranked candidates, who scored 363 and 360 respectively. All three top candidates gained admission into the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Department of Medicine.
The achievement is particularly significant as Miss Nzekwe is a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University High School, Awka, where she served as Head Girl during the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a letter addressed to the Principal of UNIZIK High School on July 25, 2026, Miss Nzekwe informed the school of the confirmation by the University of Nigeria that she was the overall top scorer in the institution's 2025 UTME/Post-UTME exercise.
She expressed appreciation for the training and molding she received at the High School and urged the institution to add the achievement to its growing list of academic laurels and use it as a source of motivation for other students.
Following the confirmation, the Principal of UNIZIK High School, in an Internal Memorandum dated August 14, 2026, brought the remarkable achievement to the attention of the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie.
The Principal noted that the achievement would further promote the image of the High School and the University if publicised through the University's official communication channels, including its social media platforms and bulletin.
The feat adds to the growing record of academic excellence associated with Nnamdi Azikiwe University High School, Awka, and underscores the institution's commitment to providing quality education and nurturing students to compete successfully at the highest levels.
The University community congratulates Miss Efechukwu Nzekwe Chinenemerem on this outstanding academic achievement and commends the management and staff of UNIZIK High School for their contribution to her academic development.
