The Department of Industrial Technology Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has commenced preparations for an international hybrid conference scheduled to hold in October 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen research, innovation and global academic collaboration.
The department disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, where it briefed him on the level of preparedness for the conference and sought the University's continued support for its successful organisation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Head of Department, Dr. Peter Izuoba Okoye, said preparations for the conference had commenced, noting that the event would provide a platform for scholars and experts to participate physically and virtually from different parts of the world.
According to him, the conference is designed not only to promote scholarly engagement and knowledge exchange but also to attract international scholars, institutions and other strategic partners whose collaborations could contribute meaningfully to research, innovation and academic development.
Dr. Okoye further explained that the department was deliberately pursuing international partnerships that would yield sustainable benefits for the University, enhance its global visibility and create new opportunities for research collaboration and capacity building.
He noted that the initiative was in line with the University's vision of promoting academic excellence, innovation and international relevance.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, commended the Department of Industrial Technology Education for its proactive efforts and commitment to expanding the University's international academic footprint.
Prof. Anyaehie emphasised the importance of international collaboration in advancing research, innovation and capacity development, urging the department to continue exploring meaningful partnerships with scholars and institutions across the globe.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the delegation of the University's support towards the successful hosting of the conference, expressing confidence that the event would provide a valuable platform for academic exchange, showcase the department's intellectual strengths and further enhance the reputation of Nnamdi Azikiwe University within the global academic community.
