UNIZIK Registrar Inaugurates Three ANUPA Committees, Charges Members on Commitment and Accountability
The Registrar of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Dr Chinenye Gloria Okeke, has inaugurated three committees of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), UNIZIK Chapter, at the University Council Chambers.
The committees inaugurated are the Finance and Contact Committee, the Welfare Committee, and the Registry Lecture Planning Committee.
The inauguration was attended by the Chairman of ANUPA UNIZIK, Mr Osondu Nnamdi, alongside members of the Executive of the association and the newly inaugurated committee members.
THE REGISTRAR'S CHARGE
Addressing the committees, the Registrar, Dr Chinenye Gloria Okeke, who is the Grand Patroness of ANUPA UNIZIK, congratulated the members on their appointments and charged them to regard their assignments as opportunities to serve the association and contribute to its growth.
She emphasised the importance of commitment, integrity, teamwork and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities, urging the committee members to work in harmony with the association's leadership and remain focused on the objectives for which they were constituted.
The Registrar further encouraged them to be proactive, innovative and result-oriented, stressing that the success of every committee would depend on the dedication of its members and their willingness to work collectively towards achieving set goals.
She expressed confidence in their ability to justify the confidence reposed in them and urged them to make meaningful contributions to the development of ANUPA UNIZIK and the advancement of professional administration in the University.
THE ANUPA CHAIRMAN'S REMARKS
In his remarks, the Chairman of ANUPA UNIZIK, Mr Osondu Nnamdi, while presenting the Committee members to the Registrar, expressed appreciation to the Registrar for her continued support, guidance and encouragement to the association.
He congratulated the newly inaugurated committee members and urged them to see their appointments as a call to service rather than mere positions of honour.
The Chairman charged the committees to work diligently in line with the association's vision and objectives, maintain effective communication with the executive leadership, and demonstrate dedication, transparency and a strong sense of responsibility in carrying out their respective assignments.
He noted that the committees were important instruments for strengthening the association's programmes, improving members' welfare, promoting professional interaction and advancing the interests of administrative officers within the University.
He urged all members to cooperate with the committees and provide the necessary support to enable them to deliver on their mandates.
BONNY OZO NKWUAKU GIVES VOTE OF THANKS
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated committees, the Chairman of the Finance and Contact Committee, Comrade Chief Bonny Ozo Nkwuaku, expressed profound gratitude to the Registrar and Grand Patroness of ANUPA UNIZIK, Dr Chinenye Gloria Okeke, for finding time to inaugurate the committees and for her invaluable guidance and support to the association.
He also thanked the Chairman of ANUPA UNIZIK, Mr Osondu Nnamdi, and his Executive for the confidence reposed in the committee members and for providing the leadership framework within which they would carry out their assignments.
Comrade Nkwuaku assured the Registrar and the association's leadership that the committees would approach their responsibilities with dedication, sincerity, transparency and a strong commitment to service.
He particularly pledged that the Finance and Contact Committee would work towards promoting prudent financial management, accountability, effective engagement and stronger relationships that would advance the interests of ANUPA UNIZIK.
He acknowledged that the responsibility entrusted to the committees required collective effort and cooperation, assuring members that they would strive to justify the confidence placed in them.
He concluded by expressing appreciation to everyone who contributed to the successful inauguration and called for continued unity, mutual understanding and support among members of ANUPA UNIZIK, warning that Committee members must not see themselves as Executive members, but as a creation of the Executive.
The inauguration ended with renewed expectations that the committees would contribute meaningfully to the growth, unity and overall development of ANUPA UNIZIK.
