UNIZIK VC Assures Food Science and Technology Department of Support Ahead of Accreditation

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, has assured the Department of Food Science and Technology of the University’s support towards ensuring a successful accreditation exercise.

The Vice-Chancellor gave the assurance when the  Ag.Head of the Department, Dr Victor-Aduloju A. Tope, led a delegation of the department to meet with him over challenges affecting the department’s preparations for its forthcoming accreditation exercise.

Dr Victor-Aduloju, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his efforts towards the development of the University and appealed for his intervention in addressing the challenges confronting the department ahead of the accreditation.

She highlighted inadequate academic staffing and insufficient laboratory facilities as some of the major challenges requiring urgent attention, noting that addressing them would strengthen the department’s preparedness for the accreditation exercise.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Stanley Bond Anyaehie assured the delegation that the University would work towards addressing the challenges raised and ensuring that the department is adequately positioned for the accreditation exercise.

The Vice-Chancellor reiterated his commitment to supporting the department and urged the delegation to continue working with the relevant authorities to ensure that all necessary requirements for the accreditation are met.

Other members of the delegation included: Dr Ngozi E. Odoh, Dr Theophilus M. Ikegwu, Dr Clement C. Ezegbe, James E. Obiegbuna and Prof Charles Ishiwu.
