STRENGTHENING INSTITUTIONAL TIES AND ENGAGEMENTS

UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bond Anyaehie, Pays Maiden Courtesy Visit to Chancellor, Gbong Gwom Jos
The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Prof. Bond Ugochukwu Stanley Anyaehie, has paid a maiden courtesy visit to the institution’s Chancellor, His Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, the Gbong Gwom Jos, at his palace along Tudun Wada Road, Jishe area, Jos North LGA, Plateau State.
The historic and all –important visit served as a formal introduction following Prof. Anyaehie’s appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university in November last year. Beyond the formal presentation, the meeting provided a platform for both leaders to discuss strategic collaborations aimed at driving the next phase of development and academic growth for Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
During the visit, Prof. Anyaehie expressed his deep respect for the Chancellor’s leadership and steadfast support for the university. He outlined his administration's core vision, the eight strategic pillars which focuses on Academic Excellence, Research and Innovation, Global recognition, Smart and Digital UNIZIK, Excellence in Staff and Leadership, Student Centred University, Modern/Sustainable Infrastructure and Strengthened Partnerships all geared towards elevating UNIZIK's standing as one of Nigeria's premier institutions of higher learning.

"Our goal is to build an environment rooted in academic excellence and administrative transparency," Prof. Anyaehie stated, emphasizing that close alignment between the university management and the Chancellor’s office will be key to achieving these milestones.
Prof. Anyaehie also intimated the Chancellor of preparations for the coming 20th and 21st combined Convocation ceremonies of Nnamdi Azikiwe University informing him that a formal invitation to that effect will be presented to him.
Responding, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, warmly received the Vice-Chancellor and congratulated him on his appointment. The royal father reaffirmed his dedication to the progress of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and assured Prof. Anyaehie of his full backing and royal guidance throughout his tenure.

He expressed delight in meeting with the Vice Chancellor for the first time disclosing his understanding with the Vice Chancellor for the lull in communication before now as he was just acclimatizing with the university environment since after his appointment.
The Royal Father who is the Chairman of Plateau State Traditional Council of Chiefs and the 3rd Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University also promised to discuss other matters of mutual benefits and progress of the university with the Vice-Chancellor when he visits during the convocation ceremonies.
The meeting concluded with commitments from both parties to foster stronger ties between the university administration, the Chancellor's office, and broader stakeholder networks to advance research, infrastructure, and institutional stability at UNIZIK.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied to the courtesy visit by the Director, Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Comrade Aloysius Emeka Attah and Personal Assistant to the VC, Hon. Onyinye Umejiburu (Bishop).
