IFITE-OGWARI COMMUNITY COMMENDS UNIZIK MANAGEMENT

Following the recent visit by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, to the Ifite-Ogwari community, the site of the permanent location of the Faculty of Agriculture, the community has sent a letter commending the university for its openness, willingness, and unwavering desire to promote agric education in Nigeria.

Below is the letter reproduced.

“VC, Prof. J.I. Ikechebelu greetings of peace!

On behalf of my community of Ifite-Ogwari, I write to thank you for giving a definitive seal to a 19-year-old nightmare. Your visit to Ifite-Ogwari on 23rd April and another follow-up meeting with the community representatives and the University management/Agric Faculty management on 25th April 2025 have shown the stuff you’re made of.

I can now testify that you’re an astute leader who knows the chemistry of administration. Your words during the meeting today have brought solace to the hearts of the entire community; your attention to detail has sanitized a lot of things; your sense of duty and right judgment have salvaged the Agric Faculty. Your openness to truth has liberated the entire Faculty of Agriculture.

By this singular decisive action, you have not only written your name in the sand of history, but you have unknowingly succeeded in making many lecturers and Agric students potential millionaires.

Mark my words, even those who may not be very comfortable with this relocation will SURELY come back and thank you for making them realize the hidden treasure that the University has missed for 19 years. May God bless you and your entire generation for upholding the truth.

Your actions today reassured me that Nigeria will surely function well with good leaders. Please count very much on our solidarity and mutual collaboration. Dalu rinne 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Best regards,
Fr. Basil Ekwunife
(Chairman, Education Committee)
For and on behalf of the Ifite-Ogwari Community)”
