
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has been selected by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to participate in the Blueprint-ICT Development (Blueprint-ICT-DeV) project. This initiative, supported by the Agence FranΓ§aise de DΓ©veloppement (AFD), aims to enhance digital transformation in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
In a recent communication from the NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, UNIZIK’s selection is based on a rigorous evaluation of its proposal, institutional capacity, and demonstrated commitment to digital innovation. The project will provide selected universities with resources and technical expertise to modernize ICT systems, improve access to digital education, and advance institutional readiness for a digital academic environment.
Professor Ribadu congratulated and commended the university’s leadership, led by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Carol C. Arinze-Umobi, for driving digital advancement within the higher education system. He assured that the project implementation team is fully mobilized and ready to commence project activities.
This development boosts UNIZIK’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance teaching, learning, and research.
