Available Programme:  PGD, MA and PhD

Area of Specialization: (i) Igbo Language; (ii) Igbo Oral Literature; (iii) Igbo Written Literature; (iv) Translation (Igbo-English); (v) Igbo Culture and Civilization.

Admission Requirement:

O’level

5 O’ level credits to include English Language, Igbo and any other 3 subjects obtained at not more than two sittings.

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

The candidate must be a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University or a recognized University with at least a Third-Class degree or a minimum of lower Credit in the Higher National Diploma, HND, from a recognized Institution

1. Master’s Degree (MA)
2. The candidate must have a first degree in Igbo or Linguistics or both or Igbo/Education with an FCGPA of not less than 2.5 from Nnamdi Azikiwe University or a recognized University
3. A candidate with a Postgraduate Diploma with an FCGPA of not less than 3.00 may also be admitted provided the University Matriculation requirements are satisfied
4. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree
