THE PLEDGE

Before God and humanity, I solemnly pledge

The love and loyalty of my heart to you,

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, my alma mater,

To uphold and defend your honour and,

By my living, to cherish and depict your ideals wherever I go, wherever I stand.

Forever, in loyalty and faith,

I pledge the wisdom and courage of my mind

To dedicate myself to that noble search

For which my alma mater stands,

O, imbibe discipline, to seek self-reliance

And to uphold excellence in word and character.

I promise to cherish and abide by that spirit of hard work

For which Nnamdi Azikiwe University is known,

To stand up for justice, peace, diligence and service to humanity,

So that Nnamdi Azikiwe University, by God‘s grace,

Shall increase in Wisdom and prosperity,

As she plays her part in the advancement of knowledge,
