The transportation system at Nnamdi Azikiwe University has received a major boost with the commissioning of the newly completed UNIZIK Bus Terminal, powered by Don Greg International Limited. The commissioning ceremony was led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, in a brief event.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Ikechebelu described the project as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the University and Don Greg International Limited, emphasizing that UNIZIK remains open to further partnerships that will enhance the institution’s infrastructure and service delivery.
The UNIZIK Bus Terminal is set to transform campus transportation by providing an efficient, organized, and coordinated transport system for students and staff. The terminal will facilitate bus services to various destinations across the country, ensuring greater orderliness and ease of movement within and beyond the University.
The commissioning ceremony had in attendance Don Greg, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike; the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, the Chief Safety Officer of UNIZIK, Mr. Ken Chukwurah, the Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Frank Collins Okafor, businessman and investor Mr. Linus Williams, the President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) along with other members of the Students’ Union Government, and representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
The new bus terminal is expected to significantly improve campus mobility, offering students and staff a safer, more structured transportation system.
