Admission
Nnamdi Azikiwe University is a Federal University. It therefore follows strictly the Federal Government guidelines on admission of candidates into Federal Universities.
Candidates are admitted into the university through UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and D/E (Direct Entry). These candidates also go through a screening test (POST-UTME) conducted in the University before their admission into the University. Admission into NnamdiAzikiwe University is strictly on MERIT.
Matriculation
Matriculation is the formal process of entering a University. It confers membership of the University on students. Matriculation signals the end of the admission cycle for a particular academic session.
There is usually a matriculation ceremony. The highlight of the ceremony is the Vice-Chancellor’s address in which the fresh students are exposed to the University’s academic culture. The students are exposed to relevant information on the operations of the University, for their successful passage through the University. The students also take the oath against cultism. At the end of the ceremony, each student signs the matriculation.
