    Applications are invited from qualified candidates, particularly practicing journalists without any qualification in journalism or mass communication for admission into the professional diploma in journalism (PDJ) program offered by department of mass communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

    The program is aimed at equipping journalists, especially those who have practiced the profession for several years without any formal qualification in journalism or mass communication, with the theoretical knowledge to remedy their deficiency.

     

    Entry Qualification

    At least five O’ level credits obtained in not more than two sittings, including English Language.

     

    Duration of Programme

    The (PDJ) is a part time programme that is expected to run for a minimum of three semesters of 18 Calendar months.

     

    Nature of Programme

    The PDJ is a part-time programme in which practicing journalists will attend lectures two to three days in a week between 2.00pm and 6.00pm to give them the freedom to attend to their daily professional assignments in the morning hours.
