Stanley Anyaehie, has called for peace, unity, and reconciliation among members of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), NAU Branch.

The Vice-Chancellor made the call on Monday 25th May, 2026 during the General Congress of NAAT-NAU held at the University Auditorium, Awka, following concerns raised by members over recent developments and internal misunderstandings within the Branch.

Addressing the Congress, Prof. Anyaehie emphasised the need for all parties to embrace dialogue, mutual understanding, and unity in the overall interest of the association and the University community. He noted that industrial harmony remains essential for the smooth functioning and continued progress of the institution.

In a bid to ensure lasting peace and stability within the branch, the Vice-Chancellor proposed the constitution of an Electoral Committee comprising representatives from the concerned factions to conduct a fresh election within three weeks.

Responding, Comr. Chinedu Umembamalu, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his timely intervention and commitment toward resolving the issues affecting the Association. He assured members of the Branch’s readiness to support every lawful and peaceful process aimed at restoring unity and strengthening the Union.

Following the Congress resolution, an electoral committee will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor for the conduct of the election into all executive positions in the branch within 3 weeks from the date of the Congress.

Also present at the meeting were the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Emmanuel Obidimma, and former ASUU-NAU Chairman, Prof. Stephen Ufearoh, alongside members of the Association.

The Congress ended on a peaceful note with renewed calls for cooperation, reconciliation, and commitment to the collective interests of NAAT and the University community.
