Awka Town Union Executive pledges maximum support to UNIZIK

The Executive of Awka Development Union (ADUN), Nigeria, have demonstrated their commitment and total support to the administration of the 7th substantive Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie towards taking the university to greater heights.
Speaking on Thursday, April 23, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor in his office, President of ADUN, Chief Fredrick Chinwuba said the town union comprising the entire villages in Awka including Umuzocha, Nkwele, Umorama, Amachalla, Amudo, Ifite, among others are unanimous in the collective decision to not only support the Vice-Chancellor but are also committed to the overall advancement of the university in all facets.
Presenting a symbolic kolanut and drinks to the Vice-Chancellor, the PG stated that Awka as the host community to the university is open for collaborations and maintenance of the existing cordial relationship with the university with mutual benefits on both sides.
Chief Chinwuba described the visit as a step towards fostering unity and strengthening ties between the Awka Development Union and the university community.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, expressed his happiness in receiving the visitors. He emphasised the need for both parties to work together, noting that they share certain similarities. He further stated that peace and mutual understanding can be promoted between the union and the university.
Members of the delegation included Prof. Vivian Nwogba, Revd. Dr. Canon H.O.N Ifediora, Uchenna Loveth, Dr. Obinna Anagor John, Obiora Anueyiagu, Emeka, Chukwunenye, Barr. Raphael, among others.
