The Federal Government of Nigeria has enlisted Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka as one of its twelve TETFund Centres of Excellence.
This disclosure was made known by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone in an interview with UNIZIK FM Correspondent Iyke Nwokedi.
Prof. Esimone stated that the Federal Government recently enlisted the institution amongst one of the 12 TETFund Centres of Excellence with UNIZIK selected and approved as one of the two institutions from the South-East Geopolitical Zone of the country. Prof. Esimone posited that the proposed Centres of Excellence will be mainly in Science-based disciplines.
The Professor of Forensic Pharmacy, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology also said that the endorsement of the institution shows the impact the University has made within its environs and beyond which has not gone unnoticed by the stakeholders in the field of medicine, science, research and community development. Prof. Esimone said that the University under his watch will remain steadfast and committed to its core mandate which is teaching, research and community service.
