
MADONNA UNIVERSITY SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH UNIZIK ON POSTGRADUATE STUDIES.
Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, has initiated moves to strengthen its postgraduate programmes through a proposed academic collaboration with Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka.
The request was made during a courtesy visit by officials of Madonna University to the Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his office.
Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Madonna University, Prof. Charles Chijioke Ntamere, expressed the institution’s readiness to collaborate with UNIZIK in postgraduate teaching and research. He noted that such a partnership would enhance academic quality and institutional capacity. He also requested support in the form of adjunct lecturers to further strengthen their postgraduate programmes.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Anyaehie, acknowledged the request and emphasised that collaborations of this nature must follow established procedures. He explained that approval would depend on Madonna University meeting the necessary requirements as stipulated by the university and relevant regulatory bodies.
Also present at the meeting were the Associate Dean of Postgraduate Studies at Madonna University, Prof. Nkechi Ezenwamma; the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, UNIZIK, Prof. Emmanuel Chukwudebere Obidimma; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), UNIZIK, Prof. Hilda Osisioma; and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Alex Asigbo.
The proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), if approved, is expected to foster academic exchange, promote research development, and enhance postgraduate training between the two institutions.
