NAAT National leadership hails VC’s leadership qualities, pledges collaboration

The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has extolled the leadership qualities of the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie and pledged its readiness for collaboration with his administration for greater results.
National President of NAAT, Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma spoke at the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Friday, April 24, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor aimed at congratulating him on his well-deserved appointment.
Comrade Nwokoma commended Prof. Anyaehie for his proven track record of excellent leadership qualities and commendable character over the years all of which he noted have manifested in his career and public service records. He further assured the Vice-Chancellor of NAAT’s continued support, pledging the association’s readiness to collaborate and assist whenever called upon.
The NAAT President also presented to the Vice Chancellor, a copy of the letter signed by the NAAT General Secretary, Comrade Engr. Abubakar V. Yusuf, conveying the appointment notice of a 5-Man Committee for NAAT UNIZIK Branch led by Engr. Chukwuemeka Augustine Dike as Ag. Chairman, who shall act in an interim capacity.
The 5-Man Committee whose other members included Mr Bright Okekeobi, Ag. Secretary, Engr. John Oguejiofor, Ag. Treasurer, Mr Callistus Anagonye, Member, and Mrs Nneka Obidinma, Member, shall act for three months in the first instance and are expected to facilitate the process of resolving the Branch crisis and also appoint the Branch Electoral Committee to conduct fresh elections in the Branch within the stipulated period.
Responding, Prof. Anyaehie expressed appreciation to the NAAT delegation for the visit, describing it as a warm and significant gesture that he does not take for granted.
The Vice Chancellor emphasised the importance of unity and responsible leadership within the association, urging its members to remain committed to advancing the goals and welfare of NAAT.
Also present during the courtesy visit was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Alex Asigbo.
