NAU Vice-Chancellor Pays Final Tribute to Late UNIZIK Primary School Teacher, Pledges Support for Family
In a service of songs organised by UNIZIK Nursery and Primary School, the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie bid farewell to the late Mr. Uzoma Chinemerem Ugwumba who until his demise, served meritoriously as a dedicated teacher in the school.
Speaking, Very Rev. Dr. Uchenna Amanmbu in his homily titled- “the conclusion of the whole matters” emphasised that life is not necessarily rated by what it produced, not how long but how well. He further established that wealth, power, and position are all good but in the pursuit of all these things, God will bring all things to judgement.
The Vice-Chancellor, addressing the audience pointed out that the goodnight of Late Mr. Uzoma came earlier than expected. He highlighted that the best enjoyment ever in life is to put smiles on the faces of others. He also voiced out his plans of rendering support to the family of the deceased and encouraged others to support the family even as he signed the condolence register for the deceased.
The Headmistress of UNZIK Primary School, Mrs Uju Ifeacho in her remarks appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his kind approval and further thanked the members of Staff for turning out en masse to honour the fallen hero.
On behalf of the family of the deceased, Mr. Madumene Augstine thanked the Vice-Chancellor and everyone who had in any way sympathised with the family.
The service provided an opportunity for the entire school community (staff, pupils, parents and the university community) to pay their final respects and also comfort one another in their moment of grief.
