NAUWA Cooperative Society Pays Courtesy Visit to UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Women Association (NAUWA) Cooperative Society paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, in his office on March 9, 2026.

The delegation, led by the Chairperson of the Cooperative Society, Prof. Gladys Ahaneku, visited to formally introduce the Vice-Chancellor to the cooperative’s activities on campus, particularly its bakery which specializes in the production of high-quality bread certified with a NAFDAC registration number.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Ahaneku noted that the bakery is committed to producing hygienically prepared and nutritionally valuable bread products. She added that the initiative not only serves the university community but also contributes positively to the image of the institution. She therefore appealed for continued support towards sustaining and expanding the cooperative’s bakery operations.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Anyaehie, commended the initiative, describing it as a foresighted idea capable of enhancing the university community through the provision of premium-quality bread. He emphasized that maintaining high standards in both quality and pricing would be key to attracting and retaining customers.

Also present during the courtesy visit were Prof. I. A. Ekwealor, Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna, and Prof. Chito Ekwealor, among other members of the association.

Highlights of the visit included the distribution of complimentary loaves of bread produced by the NAUWA Cooperative Bakery to members of the Vice-Chancellor’s office and other visitors present at the time.

The visit reflects NAUWA’s commitment to promoting campus entrepreneurship and supporting initiatives that contribute to the university’s image while enhancing the welfare of its members.
