NUJ Anambra State Chapter Visits Acting Vice-Chancellor, Seeks Partnership

The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has reaffirmed its commitment to collaboration with Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) following the recent reelection of its chairman, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu.

Dr Odogwu, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, led members of his executive team on a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, to seek his support, prayers and partnership.

Addressing the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Odogwu expressed gratitude for his victory. He commended the Ag. VC for how he has been piloting the affairs of the University. “I am here today, my VC, to seek your blessings after emerging victorious in the election. As a product of this university and a staff member, this victory belongs to all of us. It is paramount that I visit you first to seek your fatherly blessings before reaching out to others,” he stated.

He also used the opportunity to commend Prof. Ikechebelu’s support for the NUJ while exploring potential areas of collaboration for the union’s upcoming programs.

In response, Prof. Ikechebelu congratulated Dr Odogwu on his reelection, attributing it to his dedication and hard work. He reiterated the university’s commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with the NUJ and shared insights into his short-term vision for UNIZIK, encapsulated in the BLESSed initiative.
