Engr. Dr. Paul Okolie from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engr. Ikechukwu Onwuemene, Director of Works Services, have been elected as Congregation representatives for the 10th Governing Council. Dr. Okolie will represent the teaching staff, while Engr. Onwuemene will represent non-teaching staff.
The election, conducted on Thursday, September 19, 2024, across the university’s faculties and campuses, saw Dr. Okolie secure 761 votes, while Engr. Onwuemene garnered 672 votes. The winners were announced by the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi, alongside the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Peter Agbonome, and the Ag. Registrar, Rev. Sam Ufoh at the University Auditorium, which served as the collation centre.
