Our own Vice Chancellor, Professor Charles Okechukwu Esimone FAS, FPSN has been nominated as a full member of Sigma XI, the scientific honor society. This prestigious honours society was founded in the 17th century. Its membership currently includes Nobel laureates. Membership is by nomination from 2 existing members.
