SSANU UNIZIK CONGRATULATES NEWLY PAYROLLED STAFF; COMMENDS UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT.
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University chapter, warmly congratulates all formerly unpaid staff who have now been successfully integrated into the university payroll following the recent verification exercise.
On behalf of the Chairperson, Comrade Chukwudi Anthonia, the Branch Executive Committee, and the entire SSANU family, we celebrate this remarkable milestone. We especially commend the resilience, discipline, and unwavering perseverance displayed by the affected staff over the past six years—defined by patience, sacrifice, and sustained advocacy. This is indeed the true spirit and hallmark of the labour struggle.
SSANU also extends its sincere appreciation to the University Management for their collaborative commitment in bringing this long-standing issue to a successful resolution. We particularly acknowledge the proactive leadership of the Pro-Chancellor, Barr. Olugbenga Kukoyi; members of the Governing Council; the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie; the Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Okeke and her Registry team; as well as the Bursar for their dedication and responsiveness.
This achievement marks a turning point in the lives of the affected staff, transitioning them from the uncertainty of “unpaid status” to full employment, with renewed dignity, stability, and control over their livelihoods.
As a union representing senior staff, SSANU reaffirms its unwavering support and looks forward to warmly welcoming these colleagues into our fold.
