UNIZIK Governing Council Ratifies Appointment of Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
The Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has ratified the appointments of Prof. Alex Chinwuba Asigbo as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Prof. Hilda Ewosiida Osisioma as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Council held on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Presenting the appointment letters, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barr. Olugbenga Kukoyi, congratulated the newly appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellors and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, teamwork, and commitment to the continued advancement of the University.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, alongside other members of the Governing Council.
It would be recalled that both Prof. Asigbo and Prof. Osisioma were elected at the University’s Senate meeting held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, UNIZIK.
Their ratification by Council formally confirms their appointments in line with the University’s statutory procedures.
