

UNIZIK and Amansea Community Strengthen Ties as Delegation Visits Vice-Chancellor, Pledges Mutual Support and Development
The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie has received a delegation from the Amansea community in a courtesy and solidarity visit aimed at congratulating him on his appointment and reaffirming the community’s support for his administration.
The delegation, led by the President General of Amansea, Mr. Nwadiogbu Nonso Henry, expressed confidence in the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership and assured him of the community’s readiness to partner with the University for progress and development.
Mr. Nwadiogbu stated that the visit was not only to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor but also to formally identify with him as a leader and to reaffirm Amansea’s position as a key stakeholder in the university environment. He emphasised that the community remains committed to supporting the institution in every way possible to ensure its continued growth.
He further noted that the Amansea community is encouraged by the visible improvements and ongoing reforms within the university under Prof. Anyaehie’s administration, expressing optimism that even greater achievements lie ahead.
Also speaking during the visit, Engr. Agummadu Casmir, Secretary of the Amansea Education Committee and Commissioner for Power in Anambra State, welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and commended the positive changes being recorded in the university.
He acknowledged that while the institution had faced challenges in the past, the current administration has brought noticeable transformation. He also appealed for the recognition of the interests and rights of Amansea as one of the host communities, calling for deeper collaboration between both parties.
In his response, Prof. Anyaehie thanked the delegation for the visit and described it as a demonstration of unity and mutual respect between the university and its host community.
He reiterated his commitment to working diligently for the advancement of the institution, noting that significant reforms and development efforts are currently ongoing across various sectors of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor also assured the delegation that the university would continue to maintain a cordial relationship with Amansea community and pledged that their concerns and contributions would be given due attention.
In a vote of thanks, Mr. Anochili Anthony, a member of the Amansea Education Committee, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for granting the delegation audience and for the warm reception accorded them. He urged that such openness should be sustained to strengthen future engagement.
Also present at the meeting was Chief Nchekwube Anthony, Chairman of the Amansea Education Committee, alongside other members of the delegation.
The visit underscores the importance of collaboration between tertiary institutions and their host communities in fostering peace, development, and mutual progress.
