UNIZIK, NOA explore areas of collaboration as State Director pays a courtesy visit

OA) in promoting national values.
The Vice-Chancellor stated this while playing host to the State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Barrister Lady Ifeoma Evangeline Chijioke in his office.
Prof. Anyaehie promised to offer them the avenue to organise a seminar in the University with a view to sensitising both staff and students on national goals and values. He however thanked her for finding time to visit.
Earlier in her opening remarks, the State Director of NOA, extended the greetings from the Director-General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu to the management of the University.
She noted that the agency has a sacred vision of promoting nationalism, patriotism, and the mandate of nurturing responsible citizenry.
She declared that if Nigerians succeed in rebuilding their value system, the nation will rebuild again.
“Again, if we nurture patriotism, we will deepen national cohesion” she stated
She noted that across the country, there was growing concern over the rising incidences of cybercrime, internet fraud, cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse, violent crimes, corruption and other manifestations of moral decline among the youths.
“Our nation is blessed with an energetic youth population, abundant natural resources, immense intellectual capital, and limitless possibilities. Yet, despite these endowments, we have continued to grapple with challenges that threaten our social fabric and undermine our capital development ” she emphasised.
The Director, who maintained that the agency places immense importance on promotion of national values such as integrity, patriotism, discipline, social justice and dignity of labour, among others, stated that the challenge before Nigeria today is not merely a shortage of resources, but the erosion of the moral foundation upon which societies are built.
She however extended her hand of fellowship to the University towards the noble endeavour.
In her words, “as we leave here today, may we recommit ourselves to the timeless truth that nations are built not first by resources, but by values, not first by policies but by character; not first by wealth, but by the integrity of the people who create it”
