The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, commissioned TETFund-sponsored equipment—sewing machines—for skill development in the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies.
In his welcome address, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. F.O. Nwankwo, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for honouring the faculty’s invitation. He assured the Vice-Chancellor that the faculty is not defined by its challenges but by its vision and determination. Prof. Nwankwo noted that with adequate human capital and the continued support of the university management, the faculty is well-positioned to overcome its challenges, particularly in the areas of security, academic space, and staff welfare.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor expressed delight at the warm reception and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing the needs of all faculties. Prof. Anyaehie assured the faculty that the university management has plans to address their needs, especially in the provision of additional office spaces and classrooms.
Earlier in her remarks, the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Dr. Clara Anugwu, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for finding time to commission the project and for his continued support toward the department’s development.
Also speaking, Prof. P.V.C. Okoye, a member of the University Governing Council, appealed for the continuation of the faculty’s lecture theatre project to help accommodate its growing student population.
The commissioning of the TETFund-sponsored equipment is expected to enhance practical skill acquisition among students and strengthen entrepreneurship training in the university.
