The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, has officially congratulated Professor Chinedu Onyeizugbe on his appointment as a Training Service Provider for a major World Bank-supported skills development initiative.
This recognition is part of the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) project, which is under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme.
Professor Onyeizugbe, who is from the Department of Business Administration and serves as the Director of the Centre for Capital Market Studies and Innovation, presented the official Letter of Award to the Vice-Chancellor in his office recently.
He explained that this appointment designates Nnamdi Azikiwe University as a key implementer of the IDEAS-TVET initiative. In this capacity, Professor Onyeizugbe and his team will oversee the “Fashion Design and Garment Making” stream, which aims to train 150 beneficiaries. He also shared details about several grants he has secured, including £100,000 obtained in 2022, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom.
In his response, Vice-Chancellor Anyaehie praised Professor Onyeizugbe and his team for bringing honour to the university and for securing this significant capacity-building project.
The presentation was attended by key members of the implementation team, including Professor Promise Oparah from the Marketing Department; Dr Akinloruye Bankole Isaac from Business Administration; Dr Kanayo Nwosu from Marketing; and Mrs Ogochukwu Nduka from the UNIZIK Business School, who also serves as Deputy Bursar.
