


UNIZIK VC Visits Pre-Degree Study Centre, Mbaukwu; Assures Students of Prompt Intervention.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, has paid a scheduled visit to the University’s Pre-Degree Study Centre in Mbaukwu, reassuring students of the University’s commitment to addressing their challenges. During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor interacted directly with the students, who expressed concerns over issues affecting their welfare and academic environment, including inadequate power supply, faulty electrical appliances, and security concerns within the study centre.
While conducting the Vice-Chancellor round the facility, the Director of the Pre-Degree Programme, Professor Paul Okolie, who is also a member of the University Governing Council, commended the students for their seriousness and dedication to their studies despite the prevailing challenges, and appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to urgently intervene and improve the learning conditions at the centre.
Responding, Professor Anyaehie assured the students and management of the University’s readiness to address their concerns, specifically promising the prompt reconstruction of the old toilet facilities, fencing of the compound to enhance security, and the installation of solar-powered lights in classrooms and hostels to improve power supply and safety. The Vice-Chancellor reiterated the University’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for all students, emphasizing that their welfare remains a top priority of his administration.
Other members of the Vice-Chancellor’s entourage included Professor P. V. C. Okoye, a member of the University Governing Council, and Professor Kingsley Ubaoji, Dean of Student Affairs.
