    The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, recently played host to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA), Awka branch during a courtesy visit on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

    During the visit, Dr Chinedu N. Mbalisi, President of the Awka Branch, made an official presentation of a “Muffler” and honoured the Vice Chancellor with a decoration. Dr Mbalisi emphasised that the purpose of this visit was to strengthen the relationship, a tradition that has continued since the tenure of the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Okechukwu Charles Esimone.
    He also formally invited the Vice Chancellor to their upcoming 2025 Alumni Forum and end-of-year party, themed “Sustaining the Lion Spirit: Alumni in Service and Leadership.” This event, which will be chaired by the distinguished Prof. Josephat Okechukwu Ogbuagu, is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the ASUU Secretariat of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
    In response, the Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful gesture from the Awka branch of the Alumni Association, assuring them of his willingness to provide any necessary support.
    He described the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as a prestigious institution and pointed out that the positive impressions he is creating will enhance UNIZIK’s status.
    Also present at the event were Prof. Nkechinyere Nwokoye, Vice President; Prof. J. O. Ogbuagu, mni; Prof. Sabina Nwana; Prof. J.N. Okoli; Sr. Dr Adaoma Igwedibia; Dr Chinwe Madueke; Dr Justina Okoli; Sr. Dr M.C. Nwankwo; Dr Kalu Peters; Mr Macanthony U. Obiezeani, SAVC on Administrative Matters; Mr Chris Obibuenyi; Ejiofor Arinze; Chief Mozie Okechukwu; Ogbuagu Chigozie Evelyn; and Duru S.N. Eagle.
