Vice-Chancellor Dances and Sings Solidarity Song with SSANU Delegation.
It was a moment of warmth and camaraderie on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the waiting room of the Council Chambers as the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, joyfully danced and sang the union solidarity song with members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), South East Zone.
The delegation, led by Comrade Engr. Okey Animba, had arrived earlier for a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor. On sighting the union leaders seated and awaiting him, the visibly elated Vice-Chancellor broke into the SSANU solidarity song and danced alongside the union officials present, creating a lively and memorable atmosphere.
The spontaneous display of solidarity was widely seen as a reflection of the Vice-Chancellor’s friendly disposition towards unions and his clear understanding of trade union relations within the university system.
The SSANU South East Zone delegation had earlier been in Awka for a successful two-day Zonal Executive Council Meeting and Workshop, hosted by the SSANU Nnamdi Azikiwe University Branch. The event was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, who was ably represented by the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. J.K.C. Emejulu.
Following the successful meeting and engagements, the delegation has since returned to their respective destinations.
