The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, on Monday, 8th December 2025, played host to the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) Unizik Branch in his office.
Addressing the Vice-Chancellor, the Chairperson of Awka Branch, Comrade Chigozie Ikegulu, expressed delight in welcoming the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Union. Comrade Ikegulu further listed the union’s challenges, which, amongst other things, include non-release of promotion letters of their members, the need to revisit the issue of the unpaid staff and the Earned allowance for people who didn’t get it.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, in his speech, thanked the union for the visit and commended them for their unity as well as their mode of dressing. The VC further promised to look into the union’s challenges. He assured them of his administration’s inclusiveness, thus calling on all to re-educate themselves in the course of serving the university credibly.
Other members of the delegation were Comrade Vivian Obika, Chairperson, Nnewi Chapter, and Comrade Chijioke Odili, Secretary, among others.
