*AKPOAZAA Foundation Reiterates Commitment to Youth Empowerment as UNIZIK VC Hosts its CEO*

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, received the CEO of AKPOAZAA Foundation, Dr. Frank Igbojindu, on a courtesy visit on Monday, 9th February, 2026.

Dr. Igbojindu stated that the foundation aims to provide educational support, encourage youth empowerment and skill acquisition, as well as engage in community development. As an alumnus of the University, Dr. Igbojindu reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the scholarship of the university’s students by establishing an annual award of excellence. The award includes a N250,000 prize for the overall best student, N150,000 for the best student in the Faculty of Management Sciences, and N100,000 for the best student in the Accountancy Department. The award was introduced at last year’s University Convocation and is expected to increase in subsequent years. Dr. Igbojindu also reminded the Vice-Chancellor of his donation of a 500-capacity tent during the last Convocation and expressed his willingness to replicate the gesture this year.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to Dr. Igbojindu for his generosity. He reiterated his stance on Convocation Ceremonies, ensuring that graduates receive their certificates on the day of graduation, rather than collecting them afterwards. The VC also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to collaborating with the Foundation in the future.
