    Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, the former Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, on Thursday, 12th February, 2026. This distinguished recognition brings honour to UNIZIK, as Prof. Ikechebelu becomes the third member of the university community to attain this esteemed global fellowship. This accomplishment culminates his 29 years of dedicated service as a consultant in reproductive medicine and women’s health within the West African subregion. Prof. Ikechebelu extends his gratitude to God and acknowledges Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Teaching Hospital as the foundation of his achievements. He has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting women’s health globally, while expressing appreciation to UNIZIK for providing a supportive environment that enabled him to attain this milestone.
