An Industrial Training Scheme (IT) which lasts for six months is built into the undergraduate programme. During this period, students are exposed to situations inn institutions such as research institutes/laboratories, fish farms, zoological gardens/game reserves, museums, water resources management and environmental conservation concerns/outfits, hospitals, Diagnostic laboratories, agricultural industries, etc. the objective of the scheme is to expose the students to real life situation in the various operational areas to augment the their classroom experience. At the moment IT is assigned 6 credit hours and is built into the second semester of the 300 level (3rd year). Students are advised to take the IT seriously so that they can realize the intended benefit of the scheme.
