UNIZIK TO COMMENCE PRODUCTION OF OVER 1000 BRANDED FACEMASKS – UNIZIK VC, PROF. ESIMONE

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka is set to commence the production of its own branded face masks as it own novel way of branding its product and protecting the members of the University community against the dreaded COVID-19.

This disclosure was made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, FAS, during an interaction with UNIZIK FM Correspondent Iyke Nwokedi.

Prof. Esimone stated that he has commissioned the institution’s Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (COCES) to commence the production of its unique and branded face masks. Prof. Esimone posited that experts in the medical field in the University such as the University’s Director Medical Services; Provost College of Health Sciences, Prof. Udemezue; Director Academic Planning, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu and himself, have reviewed the design for professional input and as well selected the brand with materials that are medically good and sound.

The Professor of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology stated that the COCES will produce 1000 pieces of the face masks in the first instance and subsequently more. He stated that the University as part of its Project 200 intends to be innovative in all sphere of endeavour, he also cited the production of hand sanitizers, T-shirts, caps as well as confectioneries as a way of putting into practice what it preach.
