QUESTION: What is the CGPA required for Masters?

ANSWER: For our Masters program; Graduates from approved universities must have a minimum FCGPA 2.5 on a 5-point scale or  45% for Universities that do not use FCGPA

Holders of Postgraduate Diploma with FCGPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale and above can apply.

 

QUESTION: What is the CGPA  required for PGD?

ANSWER: For our Postgraduate Diploma: Graduates from approved Universities who hold first degree classification with FCGPA of 1.51 and above on a 5point scale.

Also candidates from approved Polytechnics or Monotechnics who hold a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit can apply.

 

QUESTION: What is the CGPA required for MPhil/PhD

ANSWER: Graduates from approved Universities and only from advertised Departments in UNIZIK (see 2020/2021 Advert) with an FCGPA OF 3.20 -3.49 can apply.

 

QUESTION: What is the CGPA required for PhD?

ANSWER: Graduates from approved universities who hold Masters degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.50 on a 5.0 point scale or a minimum of 60% for universities that do not use the FCGPA

 

QUESTION:What are the Admission Requirements?

ANSWER: MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for any Postgraduate programme must possess a minimum of 5 credits including English Language and any four relevant subjects at one or two sittings from WAEC, NECO,NABTEB or TCII (Faculty of Education only) based on the Departmental/Faculty and General University Requirements.

Applicants are advised to obtain information on Departmental requirements from the university website spgs.unizik.edu.ng

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

The following may apply for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programmes:

  1. Graduates from approved Universities who hold first degree classification with FCGPA of 1.51 and above on a 5point scale.
  2. Candidates from approved Polytechnics or Monotechnics who hold a  National Diploma with a minimum of LowerCredit.
  3. MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMES

The following may apply for admission into Masters Programmes:

i.Graduates from approved Universities who hold the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 2.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 45% for Universities that do not use FCGPA.

ii.Holders of Postgraduate Diploma from recognized institutions with an FCGPA of 3.00 and above (on a 5 point scale).

  1. MPhil/PhD PROGRAMMES

Graduates from approved Universities and only for advertised Departments in UNIZIK with an FCGPA OF 3.20 -3.49  on a 5 point scale can apply.

  1. DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMMES

Graduates from approved universities who hold Masters degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for Universities that do not use the FCGPA.

QUESTION: Can I do my Msc in another course other than the course I studied?

ANSWER: Yes this depends on the admission requirements of the Department, visit cpgs.unizik.edu.ng to check the Departmental requirements.

 

QUESTION: What are the MSc/PGD/PHD school fees?

QUESTION: How do I address the Transcript?

ANSWER: Address your transcript as follows:

QUESTION: How do I apply for my Unizik PG Transcript?

ANSWER: Request for transcripts are made using the PG Form 044 and payment to be made through the Remita platform.

 

QUESTION: Can I send my Transcript online?

ANSWER: Yes your Transcript can be sent by your university to our email address [email protected] or [email protected] kindly note that we will not accept transcripts sent by individuals we will only accept those sent in by your university.

 

QUESTION: What happens if an Applicant’s transcript did not get to the School of Post graduate Studies before the deadline?

ANSWER: If your Transcript does not get to the PG School before the deadline you will not be offered admission.

 

QUESTION: What are the areas of specialization available?

ANSWER: The PG school offers a wide variety of specializations, kindly visit our website to find out the available areas of specialization.

QUESTION: What is the duration of PG programs?

QUESTION: Is there hostel accommodation  available?

ANSWER:There is limited accommodation for postgraduate students on campus, however private accommodation is available off campus.

 

QUESTION: What is the difference between part time and full time?

ANSWER: The difference between these two modes of study lies in the duration of each program.
